Amare Questions Perk's Maturity
Stoudemire questions Perkins' maturity - Globe
Phoenix's Amar'e Stoudemire was asked about Perkins' maturity in his sixth NBA season. The Suns forward was quite candid.
"He''s a solid player out there, he loves to get physical. He's aggressive," Stoudemire said. "He keeps a lot of confrontation going. We try to play smart basketball from our standpoint. We try to stay out of the confrontation, really and just execute our plays offensively and defensively. But seeing sometimes he wants to keep it up, always mean, always mad. He don't even have fun out there. He needs to learn to have fun on the basketball court and enjoy his life, enjoy the game."
Don't listen to him Perk. You be you.

Ainge Interview
WEEI had Ainge on for an interview. See the full transcript here. Some highlights.
On Rondo:
this summer as a lot of you are aware with all the trade rumors, we discovered that even though we weren't really close to doing a deal for Rajon, we discovered that there is a great deal of interest for him and there's a lot of teams with cap space, with money that have him high on their list.
On Pierce's hot start:
He was like this two years ago and he was like this some last year. I think Paul got worn out carrying our team last year, especially after KG got hurt. Paul has been in this practice facility, I've looked at my window a few nights last week at 9 p.m. and he's getting up shots. After our back-to-back games last week, he was in our gym at 10 getting up shots. He is focused. he's in great conditions. He's putting to shame anyone I've ever played with, including Larry, one of the great workers of all time.

Stats, Stats, and Salaries
Three interesting links for you today.
1. A site appropriately named Basketball Geek uses a formula that looks like this
And determines that what we already know: that KG is the greatest defender in all the land.
2. Wages of Wins uses stats to make the point that Rondo's deal is a bargain for the Celtics. They go on to make the following predictions:
1. Rondo will continue to produce more than he is paid. Because he does not rely on scoring to produce wins, the NBA player market will continue to undervalue Rondo’s services.
2. Given the age of Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen, and Paul Pierce, we can expect the productivity of Rondo’s key teammates to decline in the near future. When this happens – and the Celtics start winning less often – perceptions of Rondo’s pay will change. Specifically, when the Celtics are not one of the top teams in the NBA, someone will argue that the Celtics overpaid for Rondo.
3. Finally, CelticsHub does the math on the salaries and comes to the following conclusion.
All in all, the signing of Rondo relegates the C’s this team to in essence remain committed to this core of players for at least the next two-three years. Lots of holes will have to be filled in this roster by holdovers and players making the veteran’s minimum. There will likely be half the 15 man roster making somewhere between 10-15 million altogether when all is said and done.
