Meet the Celtics Again: P.J. Brown

With the Celtics remaining regular season schedule featuring several teams that have struggled this year and having watched 70+ games to evaluate a roster that only returned 6 players from the '07 season I've decided to profile every Boston Celtic. I will feature one player each weekday until April 18th. Enjoy.

Previous Profiles
Ray Allen
Tony Allen

Player: P.J. Brown
Strengths: Size, experience.
Weaknesses: Age, rust.
Go to Move: Mid range jumper, I guess.
What a Difference a Year Makes: Last year Brown was a Chicago Bull with a big contract that a lot of people assumed would get moved. Not the case. In hindsight he was incredibly smart to skip training camp, the bulk of the season and then sign on as a mercenary. Imagine if he had resigned with Chicago.
Shining Moment This Season: Brown had a pretty nice block on the road in New Orleans. However, since he is still wearing a Bulls jersey in his NBA.com picture, I don't feel too compelled to try and point out a marquee play. That's the clever way of saying he's averaging 2 ppg in 11 games as a Celtic.
If not in Boston which NBA team would make the most sense?: New Orleans? It's hard to say because he is not capable of substantial minutes right now. But he would give the Hornets some size and experience.
Random Point of Information: I'm not sure this qualifies as a "random point of information" but can we all agree that Brown is only here for insurance purposes at this point? There was a time when Kevin Garnett, Kendrick Perkins and Brian Scalabrine were all out and Scot Pollard (soon to be out for the season) was not a reliable option. Thankfully those days are behind us. Still Brown is here in case Perk's shoulder issues flare up again.
Contract Situation: Brown is signed for the rest of the season and no matter what happens this is probably it for him.
