Celtics, fans mourned Reggie Lewis' death in '93 - The Washington Times: Sports - July 26, 2004
I loved Reggie Lewis as much as any fan could have. He was the next generation of Celtics. He would have fit perfectly on the great teams of the early 80's. He was a great player in his own era. It just ended way too soon. Same goes for Len Bias, but I never got to know him, to enjoy him as a fan. I remember sketching a sihloette of Reggie's patented fallaway jumper. I can still see it in my mind. I sometimes wonder if MJ didn't steal that from him. That fadeaway prolonged MJ's career because he could score and not have to take the punishment of driving the lane as much. But it couldn't do the same for Reggie. It couldn't stop his heart from failing. It couldn't stop the hearts of Celtic Nation from breaking.
My thoughts and prayers go out to Donna Lewis and the rest of his family and friends.
Update: Celtics.com has a quick article remembering Reggie.
