Ainge mentioned on WEEI that Gary would address the media in "10 days or so." That was on August 18. Well, here it is August 28th. So we should be hearing from him any day now. If he wants a big deal made of it, perhaps to clear his name/image, then he'd be wise to talk today so the journalists can get it into the Sunday papers. But then again, one thing that is clear is that Gary works on his own schedule.
Putting aside the contest, I'll say again that the best thing for the C's would be for a healthy and motivated Gary Payton to report to training camp and really make an effort to help us go for it this year, and perhaps for the next couple years. If things don't work out as planned, Gary is still very tradable at the deadline.
