6th Man

Davis is saying all the right things this morning about his new role as 6th man/Microwave 2.0:

``I was cool with the change,'' Davis said. ``I came off the bench before. I know how to do it. I know how to be prepared for it.

``I knew I wasn't getting the shots I wanted, and the second squad was struggling a little bit, so I kind of knew it was coming. Me and coach talked about it earlier in the year. Whatever we can do to make the team better.''

"'Hopefully that will be the [role], me coming in and being the sixth man,' said Davis, who was 10 for 14 from the floor and 4 for 5 on 3-pointers."

Also, Gary clarified his stance a bit:

``If we do well this year, I'm open to Boston,'' Payton said. ``I've got all ears open to them. If they make me an offer that I can't resist, I'll have to come back here. It's always open. But I've always said I wanted to finish my career in Seattle because they started me off and I was there so long. But anything can happen. This is life. If Boston comes back and we have a great year and I think this team is gelling the right way, then I'll stay here.''
