The Sun Rises and Falls in San Antonio

Since it's not Celtic related, I won't belabor this, but we've crowned a new NBA Champion: The San Antonio Spurs.

Congratulations to them, here are just a few thoughts:

1. Rick Pitino is somewhere once again shaking his head wondering "what could have been" had the lottery draft gone our way. The rest of us are just weeping internally.

2. Speaking of those who got away, what a series Timmah, Chauncey, and Big Ben had. Again, somewhere inside, I'm crying just a little at what had could have been, if only for some patience.

3. I'm not an "I told you so" type of guy, but I TOLD YOU SO! Ok, now that you're wondering what the heck I'm blathering about, it was that the series wouldn't be the snoozer that people were willing to write it off as prior to it's start. Defense and teamwork were tantamount in this series and that's always cool in my book. First Game 7 in 11 years! You don't have to be Nostradamus reincarnate to have called that one.

Anyways, I'm just about ready to talk draft and since Jeff's on vacation, I guess it's good timing. Gabe Kahn will be helping with draft coverage and his thoughts as well, so I hope the Celtic Nation will tune in and join us for some Chat as well. Let's hope Danny's got some more draft day magic for us. With all this Pitifultino talk, I'm now slightly depressed and need a pick-me-up. ;)
