Pierce is Player of the Week

Boston.com reports:

Celtics forward Paul Pierce was named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week for games played Monday, Dec. 10 through Sunday, Dec. 16.

Pierce led the Celtics to a 3-0 week, helping Boston extend its winning streak to nine games. At 20-2, the Celtics own the NBA’s best record and have tied the franchise record for best start through 22 games, first achieved during the 1963-64 season. Pierce averaged 25.3 points and 5.0 rebounds. The ninth-year pro connected on 24-of-27 (.888) free throws including a nine-of-nine effort during Boston’s 104-82 win over the Bucks on Dec. 14....

Here is a closer look at the week for Pierce:...

Dec. 12 vs. Sacramento: Tallied 26 points, six rebounds, four assists, two steals and one block in Boston’s 90-78 win over the Kings.

Dec. 14 vs. Milwaukee: Poured in 32 points, including five-of-11 from three-point range as the Celtics beat the Bucks 104-82.

Dec. 16 @ Toronto: Collected 18 points, six rebounds, four assists and one steal in a 90-77 win over the Raptors.
