Has this ever happened?

Marc Stein reports that Jerry Sloan was less than impressed with the way his guys played in the first half of their loss to the Spurs on Sunday. He went as far to question their desire by saying,

"At halftime, I told our players, 'If you are intimidated and you don't want to go out there and compete, then stay in the locker room,'"That's the only thing I know to tell them."

Here is my question. Has this ever happened? I've heard plenty of stories about professional athletes mailing it in. But do they ever simply refuse to play. Now that would be interesting.
