Do It

The Celtics have to have to HAVE TO trade for Kevin Garnett. In the process they should include anyone not named Paul Pierce and Ray Allen. Quite simply the addition of Garnett would electrify Boston and immediately make the C's a force to be reckoned with. And this is coming from a guy who is a huge Al Jefferson fan. I hate to see him go, but I understand. Also during the last round of trade rumors it looked like Garnett, Pierce and Scalabrine would vie for control of the East. But the addition of Allen changed everything. And do you want to know what really clinched it for me? There was a moment when I envisioned Minnesota sending out Corey Brewer, Ricky Davis, Randy Foye, Al Jefferson, Gerald Green, Ryan Gomes, Mark Blount and whoever else and I immediately thought, "That's not going to work." Now I understand why other bloggers constantly mocked the C's and ESPN ordered all its writers to repeatedly make condescending remarks about the Boston youth movement. My Tommy Heinsohn induced optimism and irrational thought finally lifted. The C's as they were constituted last year, even if healthy, were not scaring anyone. Of course if this blows up, and it still could, I will forget this new found realization and write long posts about how awesome Al Jefferson is. But in the meantime I am keeping my fingers crossed.
