CSL Sunday Night With Mike Gorman

On the eve of raising Banner 17 to the rafters of the TD Banknorth Garden, Celtics Stuff Live returned to the air in the comfy confines of its new home, Comcast Sports Net. Justin Poulin and Jon Duke broadcast for the first time as a duo, following the departure of their longtime compadre, Jim Metz, and did their best to explore the space.

With the Celtics season days away and the move of Celtics Stuff Live to Comcast Sports Net, there could be no better person to join CSL in their first show in their new digs than voice of the Celtics, Mike Gorman. Mike has been a long time guest at Celtics Stuff Live and his visits have always been eagerly anticipated. Gorman’s appearance this evening was no exception as Mike, Jon, and Justin ran through the roster, and the bench, in particular. Gorman noted that there are likely too many players available for Doc to have a condense eight or nine man rotation, but that isn’t such a bad problem to have.

The CSL duo wrapped up their interview with Mike Gorman discussing the potential of Rajon Rondo, and Mike’s thoughts on the use of instant replay by NBA officials and former Celtic Delonte West’s diagnosis of clinical depression.

In the second hour of the show, a handful of callers came along to weigh in on the survey of NBA GM’s where 46% of those polled saw the Lakers as the likely NBA champion in 2009. Oh, and there was this little bit of world class prose from Bill Simmons that called into question Doc Rivers’ ability to coach Rajon Rondo. Pretty much par for the course.

So, week one of CSL on CSN is in the books. We hope you enjoyed the show and look for bigger and better things from Celtics Stuff Live in the days and weeks ahead.
