Tendinitis for Derrick Rose. Sternum injury for Mike Beasley. Now it's time to tally up the latest lottery pick to get banged up in the infancy of his NBA tenure, this one severely enough to cost him some court time.
As reported by ESPN's Marc Stein:
The Los Angeles Clippers confirmed on Sunday that lottery pick Eric Gordon will miss the remainder of the NBA Summer League on the campus of UNLV with a strained left hamstring.
Gordon, who has shown some nice flashes in two games despite his struggles from perimeter, suffered the strain Saturday in a loss to the Charlotte Bobcats.
The good news is that the initial report indicates that the injury isn't expected to be serious in the long-term.
In a summer of disaster for the Clips, the last thing this team needs is an injury to its lottery pick. Baron Davis is signed for big money, but the guy he came to play with is signed by another team from another city. Corey Maggette is gone. Eric Gordon being seriously hurt could really be a little much even for Clips fans.
Good to hear that all should be fine with the rookie guard from Indiana.
