Garnett's Trash Talking Gone Too Far?

Kevin Garnett's trash talking to opponents has been well documented. The man is ferocious, and relentless, and many of his verbal tirades are profanity laced. He'll even insist on barking at the opposition when he's stuck on the bench in street clothes (remember the Chicago series in the 2009 playoffs?).

Charlie Villanueva of the Detroit Pistons was Garnett's latest victim last night, and Villanueva took exception to some of the things Garnett said to him. Here's what he posted on his personal Twitter account:

KG talks alot of crap, he's prob never been in a fight, I would love to get in a ring with him, I will expose him

KG called me a cancer patient, I'm pissed because, u know how many people died from cancer, and he's tossing it like it's a joke,

I wouldn't even trip about that, but a cancer patient, I know way 2 many people who passed away from it, and I have a special place 4 those

Some people are of the opinion that Garnett went too far on this one. But people aren't exactly thrilled with Villanueva for turning to Twitter to address the situation. Couldn't he have said something to KG, face-to-face, after the game?

What's your take? Did Garnett encroach on territory that shouldn't be crossed into with what he (allegedly) said? How do you feel about Villanueva addressing the matter over Twitter?
