The Line: The Celtics are 2-1 against Chicago this season. The Bulls are a half
The CountDownInator: 2 more games left until basketball starts again!!!
I'm not saying the Celtics don't give a hoot about this game, but they just signed two D-Leaguers to finish out the last 2 games of the season. I'm not saying this game is a must win for the Bulls, but if the Bulls lose tonight or tomorrow and the Raptors beat the Knicks (which they probably will), the Bulls are out of the playoffs (the Raptors are 2-1 against the Bulls this season).
So what can we expect tonight? Well here's hoping for a win. If we can get the next 2 games, and Atlanta loses to Cleveland (which they could, but probably won't), we take over the 3rd overall playoff seed (because we're a division winner, despite being humiliatingly swept by the Hawks this season in 4 of the most demoralizing losses I've ever seen). What does that mean? It depends on opinion, but really it comes down to "do we face the Magic or the Cavs in the second round of the playoffs".It will also decide whether we face the limping Bucks or the Dwayne Wades in the first round.
What's that? You want me to actually break down the game? Well if the Celtics play 48 mins of mentally strong basketball they'll win. The Bulls have been bad all year. Derrick Rose hasn't been Derrick Rose of last season, and they lack scorers John 'Atlantic' Salmons and Ben 'Undersized' Gordon, so the talent isn't really there either. That's won't make an ounce of difference though tonight if the Celtics come out flat and lazy, because these Bulls are going to have more energy than a 5 year old being forced to watch an episode of "Inside the Actors Studio", this week featuring lets say umm....Ernest Borgnine.
Probable Starting Lineups:
Injuries and stuff: Generalissimo Fransisco Franco is still dead.
Injuries And Stuff: Luol Deng is probably hurt. He's usually hurt.
Matchup Of The Night: Joakim Noah V Kendrick Perkins
-Why is the matchup of the night? Because Joakim Noah is going to be going 1000% against ol' Krep. Perkins will be pushed, prodded, out hustled, out talked. He'll be flammed he'll be floosled. He'll be bing bam boozled. Joakim Noah, like Andersen Varejao before him, is a master of energy. Perkins could learn a thing or two. Perkins has been a guy who has played up rather than down to the competition this season, so hopefully we see a war.
Three Keys To The Game For The
Old Good Guys
1) Effort- This has been a Celtic flaw since day one. I've said it approximately 1,000 times. Doesn't make it any less true.
2) Focus- This has been a Celtic flaw since day one. I've said it approximately 1,000 times. Doesn't make it any less true.
3) Composure- This has been a Celtic flaw since day one. I've said it approximately 1,000 times. Doesn't make it any less true.
Note on the 3 keys to the game: I have decided that these will always be the three keys to the game for the Celtics until the playoffs. This team is better than the Bulls. The Bulls can't win, the Celtics on the other hand, can still lose.
Happy Note: Here is to Tony Gaffney and Oliver Lafeyette suiting up tonight! They probably won't, but here is to them maybe doing it!
