Watching Game 7 live here in Australia, it will already be the morning of 18 June and therefore the 195th anniversary of the Battle of Waterloo. And that's just what will occur in LA. This will be the final battle 'for all the marbles'.
One thing I admire about Doc is his unshakeable optimism, even in the face of adversity. I decided during Game 5 to take up this attitude, that never-say-die optimism and faith in the ability and heart of the Celtics players. So let's all get on board and think positive thoughts throughout the lead-up to the final battle and throughout the entire game. Let's hold faith with our Celtic warriors. There is no way known they're coming onto the floor for Game 7 not ready to give everything to win that game. They are going to have the collective mother of all game faces on.
To me Phil Jackson is Napoleon and the Lakers will come at us ''in the same old way", and we'll be waiting for them. Doc is Wellington. I just can't wait to see who will emerge as our Field Marshal von Blücher to turn the tide in favour of the Celtics late in the piece. Will it be Ray, will it be KG or Rondo, or will it be The Truth?
Make no mistake, it will be a battle royale. Hold on to your seats and stay positive and keep the Celtics faith all the way through.
As Wellington famously said after Waterloo; that was "the nearest-run thing you ever saw in your life..."
Don't worry; we're still going to win.
