The Heat are adding pieces to their foundation of LeBron, Wade, and Bosh. Haslem is already in. Mike Miller is almost there and Big Z is on his way.
The comparisons to how the Celtics built around their Big Three will be inevitable. So far I see more PJ Browns and James Poseys than I see Rajon Rondos and Kendrick Perkins. But that might be enough.
Here's Kelly Dwyer's take. Good stuff as always.
Personally, I think they could very well run away with this thing. Yes, they'll have to go through the Celtics and in particular our team defense. But they've got enough weapons and we've got old enough legs that we won't be able to scoff at the experts that pick against us this year. They'll also have to go through the Magic and maybe the Bulls who will each pose their own problems.
And lets face it, when you look at any one team, no matter how stacked, you always bet the field because anything can happen. In this case, with this much pressure and this much expectation, things could very well blow up in a big way. On the other hand, maybe they won't. We'll just have to see how it plays out.
However, this much I know. As much as I dislike the way this whole thing played out and as much of an egotistical brat as LeBron is, I would still root for them to bring down the Lakers if they faced in the Finals.
In other NBA news, Big Al joins Deron Williams and Paul Millsap in Utah, Chandler is joining the Mavs, and I don't even know what's going on in Minnesota anymore.
