Earlier this month, Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge indicated that his team would stick close to home and hold its annual training camp at its own practice facility in Waltham. With a late audible, the Green will hit the road instead and spend five days in Newport, R.I., according to the team's media relations staff.
As it has each of the past two seasons, Boston will camp on the campus of Salve Regina University, holding daily practice sessions from Sept. 28-Oct. 2 before reverting to its home base.
