Future Plans

Training camp is always about the future, but this particular camp has been a lot about the 2 years from now kind of future.  You know, the time when most of these guys will be making long term golf plans.

In case you missed the underlying message, here are a few quotes from the last few days.

Kevin Garnett:

Is this your last stop, the last place you want to be?
Yup, this is it. Last train stops in Boston.

Ray Allen:

Are you going to finish [your career] here?
That’s my plan. You know, when I was traded here in ‘07 that was my plan to be here to finish my career out.

Paul Pierce:

"My career is winding down," he said. "You know, I see the light at the end of the tunnel. I've got four years left, and that probably might be it. I understand what it is.

In addition, Doc Rivers is under contract for just one more year and he's going to take it a year at a time. Shaq is 38 years old, period.

On the other hand, at least one veteran is hoping to hang with Rondo in the coming years.

Kendrick Perkins:

I want to stay here (in Boston)," he said. "I told Danny (Ainge) I ain't going nowhere and I meant it.

Enjoy the next 1 or 2 years folks!
