These are the logical next steps in a process that largely defies logic.
Source -- NBA cancels games through Dec. 15 - ESPN
The NBA formally notified teams Tuesday that it has canceled games through Dec. 15, a source told ESPN The Magazine's Chris Broussard.
The news came only hours before players filed an antitrust complaint against the league in Minnesota, where NFL players had some level of success in a similar court proceeding this summer. The union also plans to file another complaint in California later Tuesday.
Oh yeah, and remember that 50/50 split the sides were so close on? Apparently at least 10 owners were quite unhappy with that arrangement.
According to sources within the NBA, the league’s labor relations board received a letter from 10 owners strongly opposed to the final offer Stern put on the table offering a 50-50 split. Owners for Indiana, Atlanta, Charlotte, Denver, Memphis, Milwaukee, Minnesota, Philadelphia, Portland and Sacramento said in the letter that they feel that a 50-50 revenue split represents a bad deal for the owners.
So there's that.
