Taking a brief break from the 24/7 coverage of the Chris Paul show, I'd like to pass along a few other rumors related to the Celtics.
First of all, it sounds like Marquis is making a come back with the team.
Marquis Daniels close to rejoining Celtics - The Boston Globe
The Celtics are close to bringing back free agent forward Marquis Daniels, according to two league sources. Daniels, whose 2010-11 season was halted by a bruised spinal cord, is expected to be here today for a physical. Teams can begin signing players tomorrow at 2 p.m.
Quisy was playing well before his scary injury happened and I was very happy to hear of him recovering. Hopefully he's got a clean bill of health and can step right back into the rotation to give our wing players some much needed rest and defensive support.
In other news, as expected, Big Baby is in a holding pattern until the team figures out what kind of trade(s) they can or can't pull off.
Free-agent buzz: Bulls lead Butler suitors
The Boston Celtics have asked free-agent forward Glen Davis to remain patient as they explore trade possibilities that could alter their roster. The Detroit Pistons, New Orleans Hornets and Orlando Magic also interested, but a deal doesn’t appear imminent.
From that same link:
Philadelphia 76ers free-agent forward Thaddeus Young is still hopeful of re-signing with the team if he receives a fair offer. Young has a strong relationship with Sixers coach Doug Collins. The Celtics and Denver Nuggets are also interested in Young.
Young finished 3rd in voting for 6th man of the year last year and is a restricted free agent, so I'm not sure the Celtics could sign him to a deal that the Sixers wouldn't match, but there's always the sign-and-trade route.
Update: Ridiculous Upside has a number of names of guys the Celtics have invited to camp.

Update: The Celtics want Delonte West back, but only at a minimum contract.
Though the Celtics [team stats] have contacted Delonte West’s representatives about bringing back their backup point guard, they have yet to make an offer. West is hoping for more than a minimum contract, though it appears that is exactly what the Celtics plan to offer the guard, who because of his aggressive style has had trouble staying healthy. At the moment his dance card carries the names of two teams, the Celtics and the Lakers. . . .
We'll post more rumors as they become available. Stay tuned as usual.
