Celtics to Sign Sasha Pavlovic

New, comments

From Steve Bulpett of the Boston Herald:

Having missed out on Corey Brewer, who will sign with Dallas, the Celtics will soon be making a deal with free agent Sasha Pavlovic, according to league sources.

Pavlovic is a 6-8 swingman who will give the Celts the wing insurance they have been seeking even after acquiring Jeff Green.

I guess Pavlovic was plan B, after Ainge admitted to having talks with Corey Brewer before he signed with Dallas.

Pavlovic is a career .406-percent shooter averaging 5.4 points, 1.0 assists, and 1.9 rebounds. He made a name for himself on the Cleveland Cavs from 04-09 and since then has bounced around from Minnesota to New Orleans to Dallas. He's played in just 14 games this season, four on the Hornets and 10 on the Mavs.

Pavlovic stands at 6-foot-7, 235 pounds and will essentially be the back up to the back up.

Here's a highlight reel of Pavlovic -- Def appears to be an athletic dude.
