Maybe they miss Shaq already or maybe they just keep muttering "you can't teach ginormous." The Celtics are going for some bulk in draft workouts.
The Boston Celtics take pride in the fact that when it comes to scouting players, there are very few places that they won't look for talent. No example brings this point home more than the Celtics working out Matt O'Donnell, a 6-foot-11, 340-pound offensive tackle from Canada. "We don't leave a stone unturned," quipped Danny Ainge, Boston's president of basketball operations. "We cover all the bases."
He didn't play college basketball but hey, at least he played intramurals. Ainge called him "the surprise of the workout" and "Big, really big," but it sounds like his chances of making the team are a long shot at best. Still, it is a fun story on a quiet news day (nobody has announced retirement or non-retirement plans yet today have they?).
