Help me Rondo, help, help me Rondo

A quick look at who has benefited most from Rajon Rondo's assists.

Jared Wickerham

Rajon Rondo is leading the league in assists and is the driving force behind our offense. But who gets the most benefit from playing with Rajon? Red's Army took a look at the stats.

Where are Rondo’s assists going? | Red's Army - The Voice of Boston Celtics Fans

Let’s see which player has the greatest percentage of his baskets assisted from Rondo:

  • Wilcox: 57.9%
  • Garnett: 42.3%
  • Terry: 37.3%
  • Pierce: 36.8%
  • Bass: 35%
  • Sullinger: 34.1%
  • Lee: 24.5%
  • Green: 19.2%
  • Barbosa: 0.05%

Wilcox is converting over 70% of his baskets - pretty much all of which are in the paint. Barbosa is pretty much Rondo's backup and his game is dribble penetration, so it isn't a surprise that he's last on this list. Green is pretty low as well, but that probably has something to do with the fact that the team doesn't call any plays for him. He either drives into the paint or shoots kick-out corner threes.

Oh, and John from RA notes that KG hasn't assisted Rondo on any of his buckets this year. That number could have been 1 except that Rondo slipped on the potential game winning shot. Maybe Rondo should be the one passing in those situations. Just a thought.
