Nets Will Work On 3 and 4 Team Deals For Howard

Presswire

At some point, probably around March 1st, the Magic will realize that Howard isn't staying in Orlando and open up the shop and put a "for sale" sign out front.

the Magic will let the Nets, Mavericks and Lakers know they are open for business. The Nets will be prepared when they do. The creative mind of GM Billy King is already working, constructing, as he did in the pursuit of Carmelo Anthony a year ago, possible three- and four-team trade scenarios to pitch when Smith is ready to talk. An offer with Brook Lopez and draft picks is good, but since the Lakers have the potential to put All-Star center Andrew Bynum on the table, New Jersey knows it must add pieces to the pot.

Will Danny get creative and get involved in some of those scenarios? Even if that isn't the case, you can be sure that a lot of lower profile deals will be on hold until this business with Howard gets settled. I would expect a couple of deals to happen right around March 1st, but the bulk of any bigger deals to happen the day of or maybe the day before the deadline (March 15).
