Celtics Offense Clicking Due To Planning & Execution

Ok here's the plan, Rondo, you do your Jedi mind tricks and we'll hit the open shots.
Ok here's the plan, Rondo, you do your Jedi mind tricks and we'll hit the open shots.

Where has this offense been all year? The Celtics are the best defensive team in the league right now (no big surprise there) and when they play offense like they did last night, nobody is going to beat them. So what's the key? I'm sure there are several factors, but at the end of the day it boils down to the fundamentals of gameplan and execution.

The Celtics beat the best home team in the NBA last night with their best offensive game of the season, and all the point guard could manage was a slight shrug.

"We finally got all of our plays down," he said. "It took a while."

"We had a good game plan," Pierce said. "Doc drew it up really well. Rondo really facilitated everything with the movement and mixing it up. He did a better job of finishing himself. He found out the things we needed tonight and also gave us a scoring lift.

I think it also helps that the Celtics match up pretty favorably with the Heat. The Bulls might be another matter. I know everything changes in the playoffs, but right now there's no question which team I'd rather face in the 2nd round or ECFs.
