The rest of the regular season is starting to seem more like an annoyance to the Celtics than anything else. They know their opponent, they aren't really that concerned with home court, and their opponents likewise have little to play for. So while the team is happy to "try for home court," that's a secondary goal.
Rivers won’t sacrifice health for home court - The Boston Globe
"That’s not even a question for me,’’ Rivers said. "I’m taking rest and health over home court.’’
"We watched some film of Atlanta, but we would have, anyway, because that was the last team we played,'' Rivers said. "Now we'll have a shootaround about Miami. We have two games. We're going to try to win them both and see what happens.''
Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce, who were rested Friday, will miss one of the final two games, likely the Milwaukee contest. Allen will not play against the Heat, but Pietrus and Rondo could return, according to Rivers.
It should come as no surprise that they are already watching game film of the Hawks. That's the main focus at this point. If they win a couple of games and the Hawks drop behind us for home court, great. Otherwise, no big deal.
