Kevin Garnett Wants More Of The Same To Return

Doc: "I know it's sad that Ray is leaving, but hey, we've still got Rondo and Pierce. Don't you worry about Danny, I'll lock him in a room and take away his cell phones in February."

Which side will move first? The Celtics are waiting on Kevin Garnett but he's not going to commit unless he's sure the team is committed to winning right now. That sounds great to the team, but they can't tie up all their money on short term fixes so they'll be looking for 1-2 year deals or at least long term deals on players they are sure they can commit to. So who will blink first?

Situation must be right if he is going to return - BostonHerald.com

"Kevin’s very loyal, and he hates change," one source said. "But I think it’d be hard for him to come back if it’s a total rebuild. If he’s going to play, he has to be playing for something. "I think he’ll wait to see what’s going to happen. If Danny can give him a solid answer right away, then maybe he gives them an answer, too. But KG’s going to want to know who he’ll be playing with."

If I had to guess I'd say that the team is going to commit to a two year deal with Kevin with an option on the 2nd year and they'll keep Pierce and Rondo and try to start building around that core. So I'm guessing KG will take a few more days to relax and wind down from the season and sooner or later commit to the C's for a year or two. But we'll see.

And yes, I realize this is the third post on Garnett in the last 25 hours, but he's just THAT important, ok?
