Allen, Pietrus undergo surgery - Boston Celtics Blog - ESPN Boston
Celtics guards Ray Allen and Mickael Pietrus both underwent arthroscopic surgery Wednesday morning at New England Baptist Hospital, according to the team. Both surgeries were completed by Celtics team physician Dr. Brian McKeon and assisted by Dr. Mark Slovenkai.
The Ray Allen surgery was expected. It is interesting that Pietrus needed surgery (again) on the same knee.
For the second straight offseason, Pietrus underwent surgery on his right knee. The original procedure, while still a member of the Phoenix Suns, forced him to miss the first eight games of the 2011-12 season as he rehabbed.
Celtics center Kevin Garnett was fined $25,000 for leaving American Airlines Arena in Miami without talking to reporters following Boston's 101-88 loss to the Heat in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals.
