The Celtics have made it clear that Ray Allen is their first priority and they are obviously looking at backup plans at shooting guard. But that doesn't mean they've forgotten about other free agents. Jeff Green is an important piece and they are meeting with Brandon Bass this weekend.

The Celtics are expected to meet with Brandon Bass’s representatives this weekend to begin discussions on a potential extension.
UPDATE: The two sides did talk.
“We had a great conversation and we’ll continue to talk,” said Dutt. “Everything was very positive.” Dutt said that six other NBA teams have expressed interest in his client, who at the age of 27 is entering the prime of his career. It helps that he excelled during the Celtics’ recent playoff run. He will be in demand, likely for more than mid-level (approximately $6 million) money.
In addition, they would be wise to match a reasonable offer to Greg Stiemsma - though in this time of free agent frenzy, don't bank on all offers being reasonable.

Finally, another name surfacing today (be it in speculation or rumor) is our old friend Gerald Green.
Celtics could be interested in bringing back Gerald Green
With the New Jersey Nets in talks of a potential trade with the Atlanta Hawks for Joe Johnson, the domino effect might make its way all the way to Causeway Street. The addition of Johnson could make the Nets less likely to re-sign Gerald Green, which might then open the door for a potential return to Boston for the former Celtic.
Stay tuned.
