Greetings from Las Vegas!
I'm here for the summer league up until Wednesday and will be at the first two Celtics games. I'll be checking in on the site occasionally (later tonight for example) with some scattered thoughts and findings from the day's games.
But first, some news you already know by now out of Waltham, Mass: The C's have officially re-signed Kevin Garnett, Brandon Bass, and Chris Wilcox, and are still dotting the "i's" and crossing the "t's" with Jeff Green and Jason Terry -- who are 100-percent going to be on the 2012 Celtics roster one way or another.
Quotes from press release on Garnett signing:
"We are ecstatic that Kevin will continue his career with the Celtics," said Danny Ainge, Celtics President of Basketball Operations. "Kevin has greatly changed the culture since he first put on a Celtics jersey and he has come to embody everything that we want in a Celtic."
"I’m more than happy and I’m excited to be back!" said Garnett.
(Does anybody believe KG actually said this?...)
Ainge Quote from press release on Wilcox signing:
"It was very difficult when we lost Chris last season due to his heart ailment," said Danny Ainge, Celtics President of Basketball Operations. "In bringing Chris back to the team, we are gaining a very versatile guy who is capable of banging down low in the paint and is able to run out on the break as well."
Ainge quote from press release on Bass signing:
"Bringing Brandon back to the team was a top priority of ours after the season had ended," said Danny Ainge, Celtics President of Basketball Operations. "Brandon has improved as a player every year that he has been in the NBA and we believe that the best is yet to come from him."

A. Sherrod Blakely has the story on Danny Ainge saying that the Celtics didn't lose Ray, "he left us".
