Jason Terry is not exactly replacing Ray Allen because they play the position a little differently. With that said, Terry is going into Doc River's system at shooting guard, so he's going to have to learn many of the same sets.

"I have been watching film and watching Ray Allen, the way he maneuvers and works off screens," Terry said, noting that one of his goals this offseason has been to become a better jump shooter while curling off of said screens. "I believe in [Celtics head coach] Doc [Rivers]' system. He'll have me do some of those things, so curling the three, that's a tough shot, it's off balance. And that's just one that I will add."
I don't want Terry to have to change too much to try to be like Ray Allen, but there's something to be said for playing within the system that everyone else is comfortable playing in. Jet will just have to add his own wrinkles to it. I'd imagine you'll see him come off a screen, catch, fake, and drive a bit more than Ray did. Should be interesting to watch that development early on.
