So, in case you haven't seen this already, Mario Chalmers spoke about Rajon Rondo's bold comments recently.
Chalmers Ranks Himself Among All NBA Point Guards - Bleacher Report
Peter Emerick: "Rajon Rondo recently said that he's the NBA's top point guard. What are your thoughts on that, and where do you think you rank among all the point guards in the NBA?"
Mario Chalmers: "He's not the best, but he's in the top five. There are a lot of great point guards in the league, Deron Williams, Chris Paul and Steve Nash. There are a lot of great guards in the NBA so for him to say he's the best is a pretty bold statement. I'd say that I [Mario Chalmers] am in the front end of the top 10."
See, Mario was almost making sense until he evaluated himself and blew his own credibility out the water. Is Rondo the best in the game? I don't know, that's up for tremendous amounts of debate. But if you took a straw poll of the greater part of NBA fans, he'd be in the top 5 but not number 1. Whatever.
Mario on the other hand, I'm not sure what the "front end" of the top 10 means, but if that means "no where near" then maybe he's got a point. I could rattle off names for quite a while before coming up with a guy that I'd put Chalmers ahead of, but again, whatever.
