Avery Bradley's Joins List of Stars That Will Have Delayed Starts

Taking it slow will allow Bradley give us a helping hand.
Taking it slow will allow Bradley give us a helping hand.

Chris Bernucca of Sherdan Sports broke down a list of NBA stars that might not be ready for the first game of the season. The expected big names were on the list, including Derrick Rose, Dwight Howard, and even Ray Allen (who actually is expected to be ready for game 1). Included in the list was our own Avery Bradley.

Will Dwight Howard be ready for the start of the season? He is among many NBA stars who may miss some games.

The required extensive rehab means Bradley will miss all of training camp, the preseason and the first month of the season. VP Danny Ainge even intimated that Bradley could miss two months,a dn coach Doc Rivers said that Bradley’s recovery won’t be rushed. The offseason acquisitions of Courtney Lee and Jason Terry will let Bradley take his time. PROJECTION: Sometime in December. Keep in mind that his injuries prevent Bradley from working on dribbling and shooting.

I obviously agree with the take it slow approach. It will be hard for this kid to wait since a) he's tough as nails, and b) he had to wait his whole rookie season, but it is the best for his long term interests and we'll very likely need a lot out of him come the 2nd half of the season and playoffs.
