It sounds like the Celtics rookies and first year players (is there a difference?) are in Waltham for some early workouts. As the days have gone by, several of the vets have started rolling in as well. Of course all of this is informal since the official training camp doesn't start till September 29, but it is a good sign (as usual with this group) that they are eager to get together and start building chemistry.
Since the rookies were there first and warmed up, it seems that they won a few of the games from the vets. Christmas even went so far as to say that they were "beating up" on the vets. Kris Joseph, however, lent a voice of reason to the account.

"You know, 'dominating' is a strong word, but we did win a couple series, and then Rondo came back and stole the show," said Joseph. "But it's been great. We've been competing at a high level every day, and there's not a day where I can leave that gym and say I didn't get better. Every day I get better and that's the best thing about this place, this organization, is that you're going to get better every day and there's no question about it."
That's pretty much what this time of year is, especially for young guys. Getting better every day.
