I suppose it is time for my annual public blog address where I stress my one overriding rule. Respect each other.
This year's team could be a lot of fun to watch at times but there are going to be nights when it isn't. I have my ideas of how well the team will do this year but when it boils down to it, I don't know for sure and neither does anyone else on this blog ...unless you have Marty McFly's Sports Almanac (and even that one only went till the year 2000. I feel so old.).
Everyone deals with uncertainty and frustrating play differently. Some weep and gnash teeth (literally or figuratively). Some ignore it and move on. Some compensate by looking at the bright side or silver linings. There's really no right or wrong way and a person's style doesn't make them any less or more of a Celtics fan than the rest of us.
I'll be the first to admit that I've gotten short with people in the past and maybe even a little defensive (me? NEVER). So I'm not trying to single any individuals out. I'm also not trying to say this is a rampant problem. I just think a number of people just need a gentle reminder to focus on the right things.
That's all. Thanks for reading and commenting and generally making this place so amazing. You are the ones that deserve all the praise for being a great community of Celtics fans. Rain or shine, wins or losses, banners or bummers, you are all die hards and true fans. So thank you for choosing this blog as a place to share your wit and wisdom.
Cheers.
