Take this all with a grain of salt:
Stephen A. hearing C's-Clips whispers - Boston Celtics Blog - ESPN Boston
“I am hearing that it is possible, that the Clippers -- because Boston is going to probably ask for Blake Griffin. ... Now obviously KG ain’t enough (to get Griffin). You package KG with Paul Pierce, that still isn’t enough. But the opportunity for them to play together is something both would like to continue to do. But it gets very interesting if you let go of your coach, and you say Doc Rivers, we’d like you to come with KG and Paul Pierce.”
“I’m not saying it’s going to happen. I’m telling you that this is what is hitting the rumor mill: that ultimately a package involving Blake Griffin, Eric Bledsoe and Caron Butler essentially for KG, Paul Pierce and Doc Rivers.”
Listen: I said what's being talked about, scenarios that are being contemplated. Can't rule anything out W/ Clips/Celts. Absolutely nothing!

My man @stephenasmith almost broke Twitter suggesting this Clippers-Celtics trade with Doc coming to L.A. as well. espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachi…

With the Clippers and Celtics out of the playoffs, this will serve as a tasty appetizer for the off-season, but there are so many things up in the air for both teams right now. For Los Angeles, there's the impending firing of Vinny Del Negro and Chris Paul's free agency. For Boston, the first domino is Pierce's buyout then Garnett's retirement decision then Doc's desire to return to the bench.
Blake Griffin, DeAndre Jordan, Eric Bledsoe, and the expiring contract of Caron Butler is the type of haul it that Danny is looking for to overhaul the Celtics' roster, but a makeover like this is difficult to pull off. Here's some sage insight from one of the more connected sportswriters in Los Angeles:
KG wouldn't waive his no-trade clause. That's big reason that trade never happened, but not the only reason

Clippers want to add that third piece to Blake-CP, not take one away

At first blush, this sounds like the kind of thing that makes Doc laugh and miss a 4-footer on the 18th green. Stay tuned.
UPDATE: Greg Dickerson is on the scene.
Spoke w a celtics source about the Stephen a smith story..their one word response to it? Absurd!
