When asked when he'll know that he'll be ready, Rajon Rondo said he'll probably just wake up one morning and play.

The hardest part about this? Rondo: "Just not playing. I don’t even like to watch the game anymore. It’s frustrating."

Rondo on the frustration of being sidelined: "You see things that you just can’t help."

Rondo said he's had no setbacks at any point: "I'm just taking my time…It's just a feeling. I'll probably just wake up that morning & play."

Rondo didn't rule out D-League: "I don’t know. I might go practice with them when I get back. Still just not sure yet."
— Baxter Holmes (@BaxterHolmes) January 10, 2014
Since his first full practice w/ team in December, Rondo said he feels 10 times better: "I feel more confident, stronger, more explosive."

Stevens on Rondo: "in practice when we have done 5-on-5 and he's been able to compete in that, he has done really, really well."

There's still no target, but there is an expiration date for the long awaited return of Rajon Rondo. All Star Weekend is slated for February 14, so that gives just less than five weeks. It was reported that RR considered playing in the D-League Showcase earlier this week, but declined after a productive practice on Monday. You gotta love Rondo's cheeky response (he'll "just wake up one morning and play"). Reminds me of what Keith Olbermann used to say about the "day-to-day" injury report: we're all day to day, right?
