The following is what Gerald Wallace had to say about the West coast trip before it started.
Gerald Wallace: Western Conference road trip could destroy Boston Celtics season | masslive.com
"Every road trip is a make or break. Especially the situation we’re in," Gerald Wallace said Friday. "We’ve lost a couple of games in a row, lost (six out of seven) games. We’re going on a West Coast trip and playing some pretty good teams. This could set us in the right direction as far as where we want to go, or destroy our whole season."
So is this team "destroyed" at this point? From a playoffs standpoint it might be, but I don't think the character and/or collective will of the the team is "destroyed."
In case you haven't noticed, the Celtics are currently in the throes of an 8 game losing streak, including 0-5 out West. Still, many of the losses have been close and/or hard fought. And mercifully the West coast trip is over. I feel like this team is better than they've played lately and Rondo may or may not return at the end of this week.
So let's take a peek ahead and guess when the next win will come. I think there are some winnable games.
They could win as soon as tonight against the Rockets who are a bit of a Jekyll and Hyde team. It would be nice to get them back for the early season drubbing they gave us.
Normally I'd say that the Raptors would be a good target for a win, but since Rudy Gay left they've been on fire and currently lead the Titanic Division.
The Lakers game seems the most likely, with or without Rajon Rondo back in the lineup. And if not, there's always the Magic game on Sunday. We might even be favored in that game.
And hey, the Miami Heat have lost to the Knicks and Nets in the last week. Clearly they are tanking.
So when's the next win going to come?
