The Celtics needed to cut one player to get down to the 15 roster spots. Instead, they've added one.
Looks like the Boston Celtics claimed Jarrell Eddie who was recently waived by the Atlanta Hawks @BBallInsiders

The undrafted, 6-foot-7, 220-pounder averaged 13.3 points and 5.4 rebounds last season for the Hokies. More than half of his shot attempts came from behind the 3-point arc, where he shot 37.6 percent. Over three preseason appearances with the Hawks, Eddie averaged 2.7 points over 13.1 minutes per game. He was waived Tuesday as Atlanta trimmed its roster to 15 players.
Apparently there's a rule where the last 4 players cut by your team can be affiliated with your D-League franchise. It looks like the Celtics have claimed Jarrell just for the right to cut him last and have him play with the Maine Red Claws.
It sounds like the Nets did this last year and the Knicks are doing it today as well. What an odd league.
