After the impressive defensive performance by Marcus Smart in the Celtics' first preseason game, Boston fans have wanted to see more of what the new rookies can do. Unfortunately, 17th overall pick James Young will not be able to showcase his skills versus the New York Knicks tonight.
Faverani, Rondo, Green and Young are all out for tonight’s game vs. New York in Hartford, CT. Thornton (dental) is a game-time decision.

Young was placed on the inactive list due to a hamstring injury. Young supposedly strained his left hamstring. His status has also been updated to week to week.
Will Young be back to play in a preseason game? The answer is unclear, however, as a 19 year old, the rookie should be able to recover quickly. What we should expect from Young is an offensive spark and solid perimeter shooting.
Time will tell if this hamstring injury will linger on for some time. But in any case, Young should be back in time for the season's start.
