The Celtics Beat LA 113 - 96

Man, the Lakers are terrible.

Mark L. Baer-USA TODAY Sports

Throw out the records, this is always important.  The Celtics beat the Lakers and all is well in the world for one night.

The Celtics once again built up a big lead in the 3rd quarter and once again let the opponent go on a run to start the 4th.  However, in a change of the script, they turned things around ("coincidentally" right about the time Rondo checked back into the game) and went on a run of their own to seal the blowout win.

On to the bullet points!

  • Without taking too much credit from the Celtics who won this game fair and square, the Lakers are pretty terrible.  Now you can see why Kobe takes all the shots.  He really is the best option every time down the floor, quadruple teamed or not.
  • Tyler Zeller ladies and gents! A career high 24 points to go along with 14 rebounds and a block.  Wow.  Nice job big guy.
  • Swaggy P got into a verbal war with Jared Sullinger but Sully didn't seem to be fazed by it one bit.  A lesser player might have tried to force things but Sully just kept right on making the right plays and finished with a solid double double (17 pts, 13 reb).
  • Solid outing by both Jeff Green (19 pts) and Avery Bradley (16 pts) too.
  • Rondo looked a lot more comfortable out there today. He finished with 12 points, 16 assists, and 8 rebounds.  He even hit a few midrange jumpers in the 4th quarter! Maybe he should have breakfast with Kobe more often.
