Celtics survive another 4th quarter collapse, top Wizards 101-93

New, comments

Deja-vu all over again.

Bob DeChiara-USA TODAY Sports

Here's the good news: The Celtics led wire to wire and got the win.

Here's the bad news: They gave up nearly all of a 25 point lead in the process.

More good news:

  • Rajon Rondo turned in his 2nd triple double of the year.
  • Jeff Green must love playing against the Wizards.  Dropped 25 points today.
  • Marcus Thornton was feeling it today. 21 points including 3-4 from 3 point land.
  • Ho hum, another double double for Jared Sullinger.
  • Near double double for Tyler Zeller with 8 points and 8 rebounds.

More bad news:

  • Watching Paul Pierce deliver daggers and make heady plays for the other team, not fun.
  • Another 4th quarter, another long scoreless drought.  This isn't an anomaly, and it is past a trend, this is a legit issue.
  • Not to be outdone, the defense once again struggled in the 4th quarter as well.

Still, all's well that ends well and the Celtics are now 1 game out of the 8 seed in the East.  Yup.
