The Celtics were 7-12 at the end of November. They weren't contenders, but they weren't in the mix for the worst team in basketball as some predicted. They then went 6 - 6 in December and with the rest of the East struggling, there was some legit playoffs talk going on. They then went 2 - 15 in January and all talk of the playoffs vanished into thin air. We were finally resigned to the fact that this team was a lottery team and thoughts of ping pong balls started dancing in our heads.
Then February happened.
February has a light schedule to begin with due to the All Star break. It turns out, the level of competition has made it even lighter. So far the Celtics are 4 - 1 this month and all 4 wins were over teams below Boston in the standings.
The Spurs come to town tonight and then the Celtics visit the surprisingly contending Suns. Nobody expects those games to be easy. But then it is right back to the cupcakes as the C's face 3 more teams projected for the Lottery.
Note: The game against the Suns could be especially distracting as it is the night before the trade deadline.
So any thoughts on how the rest of this month and the rest of the season will go?
