In a head scratching move, Warriors coach Mark Jackson has banished Brian Scalabrine in an eerily similar way to how Jason Kidd demoted Lawrence Frank earlier this year.
Warriors coach Mark Jackson forces reassignment of assistant Brian Scalabrine - Yahoo Sports
In what's become an increasingly dysfunctional atmosphere, Golden State Warriors coach Mark Jackson has forced a reassignment of assistant coach Brian Scalabrine, league sources told Yahoo Sports. Ownership and management have been strong advocates of Scalabrine and his performance on the job, sources told Yahoo Sports. Nevertheless, Warriors officials decided that as long as Jackson is the head coach, he'll have control of his coaching staff.
Brian Scalabrine has been reassigned to Santa Cruz.

Santa Cruz is the Warriors' D-League Team (featuring the likes of Draft Busts Joe Alexander and Hilton Armstrong.
I haven't the foggiest idea what is going on out there, but it doesn't sound very good. Perhaps getting away from the situation will be the best thing for Scalabrine. In fact, I wonder if this will push him towards considering a position with the Celtics. There's a chance that a position could be opening up.
It is being reported that the Boston College basketball program is considering Walter McCarty as a head coaching candidate. For his part Walter is very interested (as you'll read in the next quote).

"I’m very interested," said McCarty, who spent 71⁄2 years as a player for the Celts. "I want to be highly considered. I love the city. I have great ties in the city. I have a great foundation here, especially with recruiting. "If you look at Louisville’s 2013 national championship team, four of those five starters were my guys. So I’m very confident in my ability to coach and lead a program. I think that I’m ready."
McCarty was Pitinio's assistant coach for 3 years at Louisville.
I wish both Scalabrine and McCarty the best of luck in whatever they do.
