Two new moderators and reminder of site guidelines

Please welcome our newest front page moderators!

Greg M. Cooper-USA TODAY Sports

I'd like to introduce the newest CelticsBlog moderators clover and fordescort.  They are long time commenters and widely respected around the blog.  They will be focusing on the front page comments and helping us maintain a welcoming, respectful environment for talking Celtics basketball.

This was probably long overdue since a lot of our moderators are more naturally inclined toward the forums which left us a little thin on the front page blog comments.  Also, the newbie mods will learn as they go, so be patient with us all please.

This seems like a good place to remind everyone of our basic guidelines (since we're sure to have some new readers and commentors since the trade deadline).  We've actually got a long list of guidelines and rules but the short version is this:

  • Respect each other at all times.
  • Keep this site family friendly. No profanity, no sexual content, no illegal activity.
  • Don't be a jerk, and don't ruin CelticsBlog for others.
  • Have fun!

In essence, everything falls under the umbrella of point number one.  Respect everyone and everything will go smoothly.

If you see spam or trolls, flag the comment and tell a mod.  If someone is being disrespectful to you, flag the comment and email a mod.

If someone is just wrong and (in your opinion) needs to be told off, well, maybe lay off the coffee and go take a walk to cool off.  We all get heated sometimes, which is why I preach grace and forgiveness to go with all the rules.

So once again, give a warm welcome to the new moderators and (in the words of Bill and Ted) "be excellent to each other."
