Who in the world is Kristaps Porzingis?

Kevin O'Connor's 2014 NBA Draft Guide is available now! To buy, click the button below!

Robert Mayer-USA TODAY Sports

Today Chad Ford projected in his mock draft that the Boston Celtics would select Latvian big man Kristaps Porzingis with the 17th pick. As I read that, I heard a loud "WHO!?!" in the distance from fans of the Celtics wondering why such a no-name player with an unpronounceable name would be selected.

Well, my reaction was a bit different. He's one of my favorite "sleepers" in the draft and I have been driving the Porzingis Train for months now, as I had him going to the Celtics in my mock draft last month. The response from readers was the same on my mock, albeit on a much smaller scale compared to Ford's.

With my full 2014 NBA Draft Guide being released on Thursday, I thought it'd make a lot of sense to post my scouting report of Porzingis, just to shed some light on who this mysterious man is. If you want, you can preorder it now (Pay What You Want) by emailing me at KevinOConnorNBADraftGuide@gmail.com.

The guide will feature full-page, full-color scouting reports for my top 60 players in the draft, as well as my complete top 100 big board, a first and second round mock draft, in-depth team previews, and other essays about the draft.

KO's 2014 NBA Draft Guide will be a PDF available for purchase through PayPal as a Pay What You Want, meaning that you can buy it for as much or as little as you'd like.

As a recent college graduate who is struggling myself, I can understand how rough it is out there, so I wanted to be able to give people the option to pay whatever they wanted for it, though I think a fair recommended price is $5.

If you'd like to see more previews, give me a follow on Twitter at @KevinOConnorNBA, or if you'd like to preorder the 2014 NBA Draft Guide, send me an email at KevinOConnorNBADraftGuide@gmail.com telling me that you're interested.
