Trade talks of this magnitude tend to have a lot of twists and turns as both sides posture and preen. The latest report coming out about the Kevin Love to Golden State trade rumor is that it has hit an impasse.
Golden State Warriors' pursuit of Kevin Love hits impasse - ESPN
The Golden State Warriors have hit an impasse in their trade pursuit of All-Star forward Kevin Love due to what is being described as an "organizational split" on the willingness to part with prized shooting guard Klay Thompson, according to sources close to the process.
To add to the @ESPNSteinLine report, I've also heard that Steve Kerr and Jerry West are strong advocates of keeping Klay Thompson...

The way I've synthesized it: The Warriors don't want to trade Klay Thompson and if they do, they sure don't want Kevin Martin back.

All of that may be true, ...for now. The Celtics are obviously still a contender for Kevin Love but I wouldn't rule out the Warriors just yet. I'm sure we'll hear more reports - perhaps even conflicting ones.
With that caveat stated, it is nice that a competitor is having trouble getting a deal done.
In other interesting league news, the Bulls might have their eye on a scorer to help Derrick Rose.
Draft Buzz: Bulls seeking help for Derrick Rose - CBSSports.com
Chicago is open to moving one of its first-round picks, and a league source confirmed the club has had conversations with Orlando about a trade for Arron Afflalo.
Sources: Bulls pursuing trade for Magic's Arron Afflalo
It is unclear how the Bulls' pursuit of Afflalo would impact the franchise's free-agent interest in New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony. The Bulls are searching for shooting to surround the returning Derrick Rose, and Afflalo is coming off his best offensive season, averaging 18.2 points per game on 45.9 percent shooting.
In one report, Afflalo was one of the pieces moving (in a 3 way trade) to get Kevin Love to Denver. The point being there are a lot of potential moving parts and any number of things could impact the Celtics in a positive or negative way.
So stay tuned for more twists and turns that are sure to come.
