Jeff Green trade will be official Monday, Rivers likely to be traded as well

Apparently the i's have been dotted and the t's have been crossed.

The much rumored Jeff Green trade is finally going to be made official tomorrow morning.  But that won't be the end of it.  They still have to figure out what to do with Austin Rivers.

Sources: Grizzlies nearing trade to acquire Jeff Green - Yahoo Sports

The teams will have a trade call with the league on Monday to make the deal official, sources said. Rivers is unlikely to play for the Celtics, sources said. Boston has discussed a deal with the Los Angeles Clippers to reunite Rivers and his father, Clippers president and coach Doc Rivers, league sources said.

All signs point to Rivers joining his dad in L.A. but it isn't clear exactly how he'll get there.  The Clippers don't have a matching expiring salary and the Celtics aren't about to take on Jordan Farmar with his player option for next year.  Most likely we'll be including another team in the deal.

Confused yet?  Here's what you need to know.  Jeff Green is going to the Grizzlies and we'll be getting Tayshaun Prince, Austin Rivers, and a future 1st rounder (probably in 2019).  Then in a separate deal, we'll send Rivers to the Clippers, the Clippers will send someone to a third team, and we'll get a 2nd rounder and maybe an expiring contract (or TPE) for our troubles.

Clear as mud?

Stay tuned for more twists and turns.
