You can tell a lot about a guy based on the way former teammates talk about him. It sounds like the Toronto Raptors are really missing having Amir Johnson around.
DeRozan is going to miss Amir | Raptors | Sports | Toronto Sun
Head coach Dwane Casey believes the Raptors may have replaced a lot of the individual skills and talents that Johnson brought to the party when you take into account what the newcomers bring, but replacing the man will be next to impossible. "You miss the continuity that Amir brought," Casey said. "You knew what you were getting from Amir each and every night. You will never change that and you can’t replace that. He was just like an old blanket. Always there and we will miss him. His continuity and his closeness with DeMar and the rest of the guys is unprecedented. He will always be loved in the city because of his love for the city."
DeMar DeRozan was also heavy with the praise for his old teammate and the two remain close (see the link above).
Stories like this make me even more excited to have him on the Boston Celtics. Based on these stories and all the positive reports coming out of the Celtics camp, I have a feeling Johnson is going to be a big fan favorite in TD Garden.
