There has been some speculation that the Suns will be willing to move one of their point guards before Thursday's trade deadline. Their GM said as much this week.
Suns GM admits roster is guard heavy | ProBasketballTalk
"I think our roster balance is a little off, and that’s my fault," Suns GM Ryan McDonough told Burns and Gambo on Arizona Sports 98.7 FM Wednesday. "We are a little too backcourt heavy, especially in terms of guys who, you know, I think you’d define primarily as scorers in the backcourt. "So I think at some point we’ll need to balance that out, try to get a little more size, a little more frontcourt scoring and rebounding."
Various rumors floated around about the availability of Goran Dragic but the Suns may also be interested in trading Isaiah Thomas. If they are, then according to this report, the Celtics would be interested.
Celtics ready to pounce if Suns deal Isaiah Thomas | Comcast SportsNet - CSNNE.com
If Suns management decides to unload Thomas, the Celtics will be among the teams to look closely at swinging a deal for the 5-foot-9 guard, a league source told CSNNE.com on Tuesday. Last summer, one of the first calls made by Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge during the free agency period was to Thomas.
There's definitely #celtics interest in Isaiah Thomas, the question is whether he will be available or will #suns trade Dragic. Stay tuned.

The Celtics certainly could offer up some frontcourt help and other pieces to make a deal work. Depending on the price it could be well worth it to add a scoring guard to a backcourt that features a couple of defensive minded guys.
