BOSTON – As he dipped himself further into hot water, Jared Sullinger found himself a bit of redemption Wednesday night. After 20 up-and-down minutes off the bench, The Tardy Tower of TuchusTM hit a pair of free throws with 20 seconds left to give the Celtics the lead.A Jae Crowder steal sealed the deal on the very next play, as the Celtics continued the Denver Nuggets’ miserable stretch with a 104-100 win.

Sullinger scored 14 points on 5-for-12 shooting (2-for-3 3FG) with seven rebounds and four assists. His inconsistency was apparent early on, as coming off the bench as a punishment for being late to shootaround is becoming a bit of a habit for the hopeful rising star.

But Sullinger was part of a four-man bench rotation that contributed 53 of the team’s 104 points, as Marcus Thornton co-led the Celtics in scoring with 17 points in just 20 minutes on 5-for-9 shooting. Jae Crowder chipped in 14 points and six rebounds while James Young nailed a pair of threes.

And all of that in front of the New England Patriots Super Bowl delegation, led by Bob Kraft and Malcolm Butler.

More to come...including the Garden Report.
